December 22nd, 2000:
I'm currently working on a 3D Exploration plugin for Prophecy models. I can already export models (with texture coordinates!). With a bit more work I hope to be able to import models as well.

December 13th, 2000:
- The WC Revival is looking for people to sign their petition for a new Wing Commander game. Although the situation doesn't look good it can't do any harm either so head over to their site and sign!

- Here is a list of game types that Origin apparently planned for Prophecy's multiplayer mode (taken from menutext.eng):

Quick Mission
Build your own multi-player encounter. [a mission editor???]

Arena
It's a free-for-all in space. Pick your ship and try to kill them before they kill you.

Flag Capture
Compete with other teams to capture their flag while defending yours.

Fair Fight
Two teams build equivalent fleets with a set number of points, then pit them against one another.

Warlords
Try to destroy your enemies' cargo boxes while defending your own.

Football
Grab the ball, pass to your teammates, and try to get it to your goal before you're hit.

Cargo Alley
Friendly transports jump in and jump out. Team up with your friends to defend them.

Defender
Team up to defend a friendly vessel from alien or Kilrathi bombers.

Gauntlet
Wave after wave of enemy ships swarm through a jump point. Each wave is harder than the next.

Starship
A team attack on an alien starship. If you beat the first challenge, harder targets await.

Mostly standard stuff, but Football might have been fun...

It's a shiny new mission compiler, that was originally a part of the WingED project. But since WingED is still far in the future i'll release the new compiler separately in the hope to get some people to write a few missions. It really isn't that difficult. I've set up a mailing list for questions and technical assistance. The compiler can be downloaded after subscribing to this list. Oh, btw, Unknown Enemy is looking for mission coders.

August 13th, 2000:
I wrote a small text about animated textures. Get info on this and other file formats on the tools-page.

July 15th, 2000:
I'm looking for 2-3 people to help me testing a new mission editor for SecretOps. Anyone who is interested please send mail here (and include system specs). I'd especially like to be able to test the program on a GEForce card but any system is fine.

July 2nd, 2000:
- I'm working on a new 3d file converter called G3D. A first test version has been put on the tools-page. So far only WCP Mesh and partial PEO (Homeworld) import works. Output is supported to OBJ and the modelc format. But more file formats will follow (lwo and asc input, wcp mesh output, probably starlancer).

June 16th, 2000:
- A new version of the texture converter has been put on the tools-page. This one loads and saves Homeworld .lif graphics.

April 29th, 2000:
- Added the Museum section where you can find older versions of some tools.

April 24th, 2000:
- This page is now part of the Wing Commander Development Center
- Updated the link to PopsiclePete's site.

Please take a few seconds and answer this poll:

Custom Missions
Which tool do you use to create custom missions for WCP/SO?

I'm not interested in custom missions!

March 5th, 2000:
- I uploaded two things to my page that have been finished for a long time. WCPEdit 1.8 Second Edition and a new version of the IFF Tools package. You can get WCPEdit from the Files-page and the IFF Tools from the Tools-page.

January 30th, 2000:
- I don't have the time any longer to work on my wc tools. I'm making the new lwo converter available as it is currently. Also due to lack of time I won't be able to answer all questions (probably just the interesting ones) regarding my tools (I might put up a short FAQ however).

January 17th, 2000:
- I'm working on a new model converter, to convert models from the Lightwave format. The reason I chose this format is that it's easy to read and there are many good models available. Take a look at my first try: a Vorlon fighter. As you can see the object converter is already working, but the texture mapping is still a bit off (probably because I'm ignoring the z-coordinate...).

January 15th, 2000:
- Fixed the broken link to ifftools15.zip on the tools-page.
